The Place

Bali's most polished enclave

Nusa Dua was master-planned in the 1970s — the first area of Bali developed specifically for high-end tourism. The result: manicured boulevards, gated entry points, 5km of reef-protected white-sand beach, and a density of 5-star hospitality unlike anywhere else on the island. No motorbike traffic. No beach vendors. Just calm.

Beaches made for children

The beaches at Nusa Dua and Geger are protected by an offshore reef — meaning waves break 400 metres out, and the water inside is glass-calm. Perfect for toddlers paddling, kids building castles, grandparents wading in up to their waist. The sand is fine white powder; the water a warm, shallow turquoise.

Every morning, resort staff rake the beach and set out sun loungers. Water sports — paddleboards, kayaks, banana boats — operate from a central kiosk at each beach. Our concierge can arrange private catamaran sails, snorkel trips to Tanjung Benoa's shipwrecks, or a glass-bottom boat tour.

Villas built for multigenerational trips

Nusa Dua villas tend to be larger than their Seminyak equivalents — 5, 6, 7 bedrooms. Estates like The Layar, Villa Atas Ombak, and the Residences at The Mulia are designed for multi-generational travel: separate kids' bedrooms with direct pool access, a chef's kitchen, adjoining family suites for grandparents, a games room for teenagers.

Staff ratios are higher too. Most Nusa Dua villas include a butler, 2 housekeepers, a cook, and security. It's the closest Bali comes to old-world estate hospitality.

Beyond the beach

The Bali Collection shopping and dining promenade sits at the heart of Nusa Dua — open-air, walkable, 30+ restaurants, a cinema, a yoga studio, children's playgrounds. For golf, the Bali National Golf Club (par 71, adjacent to Nusa Dua) is consistently rated among Asia's top 10 courses.

The Pasifika Museum houses an excellent collection of Balinese and Pacific art. Turtle Island tours take 20 minutes from Tanjung Benoa. The Bali Safari & Marine Park is a 45-minute drive for younger children who love animals.

Nusa Dua spa

Spa culture at its finest

Nusa Dua has the island's highest concentration of world-class spas. Spa at The Mulia, Thermes Marins at BIMC, and The Westin Heavenly Spa operate at international hotel-spa standards. Day passes and full-day treatments can be arranged through your villa concierge; in-villa massage therapists (Balinese, Thai, aromatherapy) deliver treatments at your pool-side bale.

For families, we arrange children's massage, kids' yoga, and gentle beach-walk wellness experiences. For couples, the sunset couples-massage-then-dinner package at The Mulia is the most booked in our concierge catalogue.

Answers

Frequently asked

Is Nusa Dua best for families?

Yes — Bali's most family-friendly district by a wide margin. Calm reef-protected swimming beaches, gated security, manicured pavements safe for strollers, and resorts designed for multigenerational travel. Perfect for young children or elderly parents.

Is there anything to do beyond the resort?

Plenty. Turtle Island tours, water sports at Tanjung Benoa, Bali National Golf Club, Pasifika Museum, Waterblow natural ocean geyser. For more explore, day trips to Seminyak (30min), Uluwatu (20min), and Ubud (1.5hr) are easy with a private driver — included for most 5+ night stays.

Is Nusa Dua boring?

"Boring" is the wrong word — it's calm. No late-night clubs, no motorbike noise, no beach hawkers. If you want nightlife, Bali's energy is 30 minutes away in Seminyak. If you want peaceful family time with pristine beaches and high-end dining, Nusa Dua is unrivalled.

How far is Nusa Dua from the airport?

15 minutes via the toll road — closer than any other luxury district. First night, you'll be at your villa within 30 minutes of landing.

Can we combine Nusa Dua with other Bali areas?

We often design split stays: 4 nights Nusa Dua (family beach time) + 3 nights Ubud (culture and wellness). Or Nusa Dua + Uluwatu for romantic second week. Our concierge handles all transfers and villa-to-villa logistics.
