The black-sand surf
Pererenan Beach is a 1.5 km curve of volcanic black sand, with three distinct breaks: a left at the river mouth (intermediate, working at most tides), a beach break in the middle (all levels), and a small reef at the south end (advanced, low tide only). The crowd is half of what Echo Beach gets, and the cars park on the road — there's no beach-club valet.
Most surfers walk down from their villa, which is the point.
