Arnalaya Beach House: a Canggu Five-Bedroom on the Sand
Sonny Chan architecture, Albano Daminato interiors, and a lawn the wedding bands borrow.
Arnalaya is the Canggu house that walks onto the sand. Five bedrooms for ten, set in a tropical garden between the rice line and the beach — the kind of address that runs as a family residence one week and a wedding venue the next.
It is an architect-led plan: Sonny Chan’s loose pavilions opening onto a long pool and a lawn, with an Albano Daminato interior that lets the gardens do most of the talking. The tennis court, the gym and the spa were part of the brief from the start, not retrofits — they read as rooms of the house rather than amenities tacked on.
We send larger parties here when the trip is one address, beach to bed in thirty seconds, and a lawn that can hold a dinner without anyone moving the furniture. It is the calmer end of Canggu, but you can still be at the surf in five minutes if that is the kind of day.
A beach house that runs as well at three p.m. with the family as it does at nine with the dinner.
Arnalaya takes one booking at a time and the wedding months fill early — tell the concierge your dates and we will hold them while you decide.
