This four-bedroom villa is the first of three beachfront villas on a private property at Sengkidu, just before Candidasa on Bali's quiet east coast. The 400 m² house stands on about 850 m² of landscaped garden facing the ocean. In front lies the property's own sand beach, built along a coast that is otherwise mostly rock.

All four air-conditioned bedrooms, two on each floor, look out to sea. Each has a super-king bed with a mosquito net, an in-room safe and an en-suite bathroom with shower and bathtub, and the house sleeps 8. The 80 m² living room, furnished with classic pieces and Balinese antiques, opens onto the 17-metre infinity pool. A dining table carved from a single piece of wood seats ten beside a fully equipped kitchen, though most guests eat in the bale, the open-sided pavilion between the pool and the sea.

A staff of 18 looks after the three villas, including an in-house manager, butlers, cooks and 24-hour security, and the kitchen will prepare local or western meals to order. Daily breakfast for up to 8 guests and airport transfers are included. Baby cots and snorkelling gear are free, and in-villa massages can be arranged.

The airport is about 1 hour 30 minutes' drive. Within reach are Candidasa, the water palaces of Tirta Gangga and Ujung, Besakih on the slopes of Mount Agung, and the Liberty wreck at Tulamben. Check-in is from 2 pm and check-out by 12 noon. No pets; quiet hours run from 10 pm to 6 am.
