This four-bedroom beach house of 350 m² sleeps 8 and faces the ocean across more than 700 m² of landscaped garden. It is one of three villas on a private estate at Sengkidu, just before Candidasa on Bali's quiet east coast. In front lies the estate's own 1,200 m² white-sand beach, built along a coast that is otherwise mostly rock and wide enough for beach volleyball or a wedding on the sand.

All four air-conditioned bedrooms, two on each floor, have ocean views, a super-king bed (200 × 200 cm) with a mosquito net, an in-room safe and an en-suite bathroom with shower and bathtub. Beneath a traditional vaulted Balinese timber ceiling, the living room looks over the 17-metre infinity pool to the sea. It is furnished with classic pieces and Balinese antiques. A single-slab wooden table seats ten beside a fully equipped kitchen, though meals are best taken in the bale, the open-sided pavilion facing the pool and the ocean.

A staff of 18 looks after the estate's three villas, including an in-house manager, butlers, cooks, housekeeping and 24-hour security, and the kitchen team will prepare local or western meals to order. Daily breakfast for up to 8 guests and airport pick-up and drop-off are included. Baby cots and snorkelling gear are free, extra beds are available on request, and massages can be arranged in the villa.

Ngurah Rai International Airport is about 1 hour 30 minutes' drive away. Candidasa, the water palaces of Tirta Gangga and Ujung, Besakih and the Liberty wreck at Tulamben are all within reach. Check-in is from 2 pm and check-out by 12 noon; no pets, and quiet hours run from 10 pm to 6 am.
